Why We Exist

At One Just World, we recognise that our planet and all its inhabitants are interconnected in a way that one cannot thrive when others wither. We exist to champion a unified approach to justice – one that centers compassion and kindness for nonhumans and humans, and our one planet. We exist to remind us that other species and our earth do not need to be harmed for our species to thrive.

One Just World, therefore, advocates for changes that are pragmatic and beneficial for all: transforming food systems to be more resilient and backing climate-friendly, plant-based solutions.

Our Mission

We design strategic campaigns, partnerships, and networks that translate compassion into tangible cultural, institutional, and policy shifts. We operate in the interests of animals, people, and the planet to create a cohesive, just world.

Where it all began…

One Just World emerged from the recognition that animal issues in India needed an intersectional lens – one that goes beyond welfare to engage with culture, religion, politics, and systems of consumption. An activator was launched to consult over 200 actors, including NGOs, scientists, academics, policymakers, and grassroots stakeholders through one-to-one dialogues. These conversations shaped early collaborations, and presented a critical gap: a dedicated space to examine consumption through justice and intersectionality – giving rise to One Just World.

The World We Envision

We envision a liveable, equitable planet where humans and animals flourish together within a thriving ecosystem.

How We Do It

One Just World takes an approach that is inclusive, evidence-based, and rooted in local context. Therefore, you’ll find us operating across three interconnected layers:

  • Norm-Shifting Campaigns: To ensure longevity, we design culturally resonant campaigns alongside the communities most affected. We shift public understanding and behaviour in measurable ways, fostering a culture of care.
  • Partnerships for Systemic Change: We collaborate with institutions to turn cultural shifts into lasting policies. Our goal is to implement practices that reduce harm and deliver scalable impact for animal well-being, public health, and the environment.
  • Networks that Sustain Movements: We believe in the power of a collective ecosystem. Through our Network for Animals, People, and Planet (NAPP), we connect changemaking activists, organisers, and grassroots groups across India. This platform allows campaigns to share learnings, organisations to cross-pollinate ideas, and local leaders to build capacity through training and resource sharing.

Be Part of the Next Evolution

Whether you are an activist, an organisation, or simply someone who cares about animal and human well-being, and the future of our planet, there is a role for you in building One Just World.

A Glimpse of Our Impact So Far…

Over the past three years, we have dedicated ourselves to a unified mission: building a food system that cares for and nurtures all living beings. By connecting the dots between planetary health, community nutrition, and animal welfare, we are driving measurable change.

Through 9 digital campaigns, we have engaged 28 million people, broadening the dialogue on a just world to include everyone — from animals to the communities that rely on a healthy planet.

  • Cross-Sector Collaboration: We believe in the power of partnership. We have united 38+ influencers and 15+ sustainable business founders and animal welfare advocates and educators, creating a diverse coalition standing up for a more ethical future.
  • Empowering the Next Generation: Education is the bedrock of change. We have conducted 700+ sessions and 25+ documentary screenings across schools and colleges. These initiatives empower youth to critically analyse the intersection of industrial farming, public health, and the climate crisis.
  • Accessible Nutrition: Impact must be felt on the plate. We have successfully facilitated the service of 400,000+ plant-based meals, replacing animal-based options with nutritious, sustainable, and inclusive alternatives in educational institutions.
